Our Mission
Formed in 2016, Healthy Dachshund Puppies ( HDP) is dedicated to ensuring that every Dachshund has a safe, loving, and forever home. We provide rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming services for Dachshunds in need, while promoting responsible ownership and breed awareness.
We understand that life circumstances can change. Healthy Dachshund Puppies ( HDP) works in a non-judgmental manner to rehome Dachshunds in need, placing them in safe, loving forever homes with people who appreciate the unique personality and quirks of the breed.
We also provide educational resources for current and future Dachshunds owners, while collaborating with responsible, registered breeders and relevant organizations to support the health, welfare, and betterment of the Dachshund breed.

We understand that there are many reasons why you may be unable to keep your Dachshund, and we know it can be a very difficult decision to make.
If you’re feeling unsure and just want to talk it over, please reach out to us. One of our friendly team members will be happy to listen and help you explore possible solutions, or guide you through the next steps if rehoming your Dachshund is the best option.

- HDP does not charge a rehoming fee or pay to purchase Dachshunds that require rehoming.
- We do charge an adoption fee to the new owners. This is to ensure that the right people come forward for your Dachshund. Dachshunds are a financial commitment, and we want every Dachshund to be treated as a valued member of the family.
- Adoption fees go towards the veterinary care that some Dachshund require when they are rehomed, including vaccinations, medications, desexing, dental treatments, and other necessary procedures or incidentals.
